QatarEnergy has declared force majeure affecting the production and supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and related products, according to an official announcement issued on March 4, 2026.
On Monday, the world’s largest LNG producer said in a statement that “due to military attacks on QatarEnergy’s operating facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City in the State of Qatar, QatarEnergy has ceased production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated products”.
The company confirmed that notifications have been sent to affected buyers regarding the temporary disruption. A force majeure declaration is typically issued when unforeseen circumstances prevent a company from fulfilling contractual obligations.
In its statement, QatarEnergy emphasized that it values its long-standing relationships with customers and stakeholders and will continue to maintain communication with all relevant parties.
The company also noted that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
