The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has released a new, unified schedule for schools across the country as distance learning continues. The updated timings are set to take effect from Sunday, March 8, through Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Following the decision on March 1st to shift all kindergartens, schools, and universities to remote learning, the Ministry has clarified the hours for live-broadcast classes to ensure academic continuity.

New School Hours for Government Schools:

• Primary Stage: 10:00 AM to 12:35 PM
• Preparatory & Secondary Stages: 10:30 AM to 1:15 PM

Guidelines for Private Schools:

Private schools and kindergartens have been granted the flexibility to adjust their own academic schedules. However, the Ministry emphasized that these adjustments must ensure the fulfillment of the prescribed number of schooling hours required for this period.

Important Reminders for Parents & Students:

• Official Platforms: All live lessons will be conducted via the schools' approved digital platforms.
• Attendance: Students are expected to log in according to their school’s specific internal timetable within these Ministry-approved windows.
• Communication: Parents are encouraged to monitor SMS and official school portals for direct updates regarding specific subject schedules.
